Montresor And Zaroff Essay - 1074 Words

â€Å"Nemo me impune lacessit,† in other words no one attacks me without worrying about punishment. These words are from the intriguing character Montresor, or the author of the story Edgar Allan Poe. Montresor, from the short story of â€Å"the cask of amontillado† is a serial killer who murders people who insult him. In this short tale he murders a man by the name of Fortunato who ends up insulting the wrong person. Another character that would make great friends with Montresor would be General Zaroff, from the short story â€Å"the most dangerous game† by Richard Connell. In the story General Zaroff’s clever thinking is put into play, Watch! Out there! exclaimed the general, pointing into the night. Rainsfords eyes saw only blackness, and then, as the general pressed a button, far out to sea Rainsford saw the flash of lights. ...They indicate a channel, he said, where theres none; giant rocks with razor edges crouch like a sea monster with wide-open jaws† (Connell 8).
